Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you visit www.pawe.co or write to us. It is short because we collect very little.
Who we are
PAWE LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15531634. Registered office: 13B Wadham Gardens, NW3 3DN, London, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@pawe.co.
We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
Website analytics. We use Plausible, a privacy focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It records aggregate information only: how many people visited a page, roughly which country they came from, which site referred them, and whether they were on a phone or a computer. It does not build a profile of you, does not follow you to other websites, and cannot identify you.
Emails you send us. If you write to hello@pawe.co we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you and for no other purpose.
What you send us about a charity. If you suggest a shelter or rescue for us to support, we receive the name you give us, anything you write in the message box, and your email address if you choose to add one. The suggestion and your message help us decide where our giving goes. The email address is used for one thing only, to reply to you, and then we delete it. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not pass it to anyone.
That is everything. We do not run advertising trackers, we do not embed social media widgets, and we do not share anything with data brokers.
Why we are allowed to do this
Under UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests. For analytics, our interest is understanding whether the site is useful, and because the data is aggregate and cannot identify anyone, the impact on you is negligible. For emails you send us, our interest is answering the person who wrote to us, which is presumably what you wanted when you wrote.
If you leave your email with a charity suggestion, we rely on your consent. You gave us the address for one stated purpose, and you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, with no need to explain why.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is aggregate and retained by our analytics provider on a rolling basis. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your query and our records, normally no more than two years, then deleted. If you left an email with a charity suggestion, we keep it only until we have replied to you, and then we delete it. What you wrote about a shelter we keep, because it is the point of asking, but it is held separately from your address.
Who else sees it
Plausible Analytics, an EU based provider, processes the aggregate site statistics on our behalf. Our email provider handles messages sent to us and, if you left an address with a charity suggestion, stores it so we can send that one reply. Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc, which processes server logs in the ordinary course of serving the site. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, ever.
If you buy from us on Amazon, that purchase is between you and Amazon, and Amazon's own privacy notice applies to it. We do not receive your name or address from Amazon.
Where your information goes
Our analytics data is processed and stored within the European Union. We choose providers that store data in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area wherever we can. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, it is covered by the safeguards required under UK data protection law.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to us using it, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. In practice, unless you have emailed us we almost certainly hold nothing about you, because the analytics cannot identify anyone.
To exercise any of these, email hello@pawe.co. We will respond within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes
If we start collecting anything new, we will update this page and change the date below before we do it, not after.
